THE COMPANY

Who We Are.

Epoch Ascent provides mountain professionals and athletes, 1st responders, adventurists, and outdoor recreationalists with a place to train intelligently, and improve their performance and overall health. Our belief is that physical and mental strength achieved in the gym builds confidence that will allow you to be more efficient during your activities outside of the gym. We also believe in training that is creative, progressive, and constantly evolving as you develop, with the end goal of you achieving your performance objectives.

The purpose of our training is to provide our athletes with efficient, durable, and sustainable results through varied, unique, and directed methods. These methods are applied and executed in a way necessary for a given individual's goals, training threshold and attitude. The training here is hard, unique, creative, and is accomplished in a way that instills both confidence and motivation in our members.

In each session we sweat, we succeed, we fail, we laugh, we expose and we overcome limitations, both physical and psychological. The most important thing is that we cultivate perseverance and improvement. We believe that the mind, body, nutrition, and lifestyle factors are intrinsically linked. These are attributes we focus on molding every day as we see them as necessary focal points for progression in performance and health.

At Epoch Ascent we train in preparation for something, whether it be a sport, work, or life driven objective. We also create an atmosphere complete with like-minded individuals who enjoy challenging themselves as well as being challenged by others. And while we do set standards so that a certain intensity is maintained, quality in execution is preferred over quantity every time, for every exercise, in every session, and applies to both client and trainer alike. A training session here is a planned event devoid of mirrors, TVs, and similar items that only serve as distractions. What you will find is training equipment and space sufficient for the task along with music, inspiration, and milestones.

OUR MISSION - TRAIN. EQUIP. INSPIRE.

BIOGRAPHY

Prior to starting Epoch Ascent, he served honorably as a U.S. Marine. After the military, he began a long career in the world wide protection and security advisory field which brought him to every part and climate on earth and remained constantly immersed in physical training as he never knew what area or situation he'd end up in. Since returning to the United States he learned that not only does the gym prepare an individual for what a sporting event, work related activity, or the mountains have to offer, but also closely mirrors various aspects of life such as hardship, integrity, courage, adaptation, failure and perseverance.

After receiving professional certifications from the National Strength & Conditioning Association and National Academy of Sports Medicine, he the drew on his cumulative experiences as an athlete, outdoor enthusiast, Marine, and realist to develop training philosophy and location where both professional and recreational athletes could work hard to achieve their performance objectives: a place to train, grow, expose and overcome self-limitations, and progress. These are values he has continued to maintain and are cornerstone to Epoch Ascent.

  • Not only is training at Epoch about pushing past your self-imposed limitations, it’s also about taking that higher level built through a sport specific methodology, and applying it outside. Whether you’re a novice athlete, a seasoned athlete, or weekend warrior, Dewayne works with you to design a program that’s right on point with your sport or work related needs.

    ASHLEY L., Rock Climber

  • I just wanted to give you a quick shout and thanks for the excellent programming and guidance that Epoch provides. I’ve been utilizing your training methods for just over 8 months now and have seen significant gains in strength, endurance, and overall work capacity. I'm a year-round mountain sports athlete and can see that the training is definitely transferable to the required fitness demands in my activities.

    ERIC G., Father, Weekend Warrior

  • I want to start off by saying thank you Dewayne. Thank you for providing a platform for individuals to tap into your methodology that is hands down the best programming I’ve seen for fitness. This is especially true for those of us preparing to head “downrange” as well as other tactical athletes that require incredibly high levels of fitness in order to be successful. Epoch’s programming is tough, but tailored to the objective making it an absolute asset in my training toolbox.
